Biomedical Engineering



This discipline was established in 2006, from Hangzhou Dianzi University, College of automation, biomedical engineering research laboratory; in 2008 began to recruit students; in 2010, based on Biomedical Engineering Research Institute, with integration of the discipline of Hangzhou Dianzi University measurement and instrument discipline, Hangzhou Dianzi University College of life science and instrument engineering was established. This subject has two undergraduate majors, namely, biomedical engineering, medical information engineering. In 2011 this discipline was recognized as a master of Science Degree in the Ministry of Education Center awarded the unit, in 2014 obtained under the control of science and engineering disciplines the two disciplines of biological information science Ph.D. grant rights. Disciplines haves 26full-time teachers, including 3 professors, 10 associate professors, 13 graduate student instructors. The doctoral rate of full-time teachers is 100%, more than 50% of the teachers have the experience of studying abroad.

Since the formation, the subject has been supported by "Zhejiang province priority among priorities of discipline construction", "Zhejiang provincial key university building", and gradually establish a complete training base for advanced scientific research and innovation environment and graduate students, there are now "Zhejiang medical information and biology Key Laboratory of 3D printing", and 4 central government special laboratory, "Biomedical Electronics Laboratory Information", "digital biomedical technology laboratory, biomedical detection technology and instrument laboratory", "medical information and intelligent diagnosis technology laboratory" ; Also with Tsinghua University to build a "bio manufacturing research center", and the tumor hospital of Zhejiang province has a "tumor Informatics Laboratory" the 117 Hospital of PLA, and built a "medical information laboratory", and built a "Hangzhou Dianzi University experimental  

animal center".

Local services, and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Medical College of Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Provincial Tumor Hospital, General Hospital of the army, the people's Liberation Army 117 hospital more than a dozen inside and outside the province famous hospital established close relations of cooperation, to provide medical intelligence service of new technology; and Ming Feng medical, Xingaoyi medical, Zhejiang hellowin, domestic famous medical equipment enterprises to establish a close cooperative relations, joint research and development of new medical instruments.

In terms of international cooperation, have cooperation with Paris-V holding the biomedical engineering graduate education programs and a long-term relations of cooperation with the University of Pittsburgh, Drexel University, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Research Center.

The discipline of personnel training emphasized solid knowledge of biomedical, electronic information technology in the healthcare industry practical application for the characteristics of the training mode, to adapt to the needs of medical and health industry information and intelligence. Focus on advanced medical equipment research and development, biomedical information processing and application training master's and doctoral students, the current distribution of graduates in Zhejiang Province at all levels of hospital information department, equipment department, both inside and outside the province of the large medical equipment companies such as Neusoft, Mindray inside and outside the province famous software companies

Discipline direction setting fully consider "advanced direction for the field", "life and information of the cross" and "local economy service”, now has formed three major characteristics of biomedical information processing and application, biological 3D manufacturing, advanced medical instrument distinct research direction and the team.

Biomedical information processing and application: mainly to carry out the development of key technologies based on large data of intelligent medical treatment, involving multiple modes of tumor, major brain disease diagnosis. Early results of breast cancer alert has been initially achieved industrialization, has been applied in Zhejiang Cancer Hospital; in major brain disease diagnosis, and Army General Hospital, Hangzhou hospital of armed police cooperation to carry out vegetative state of consciousness judgment, stimulation validity analysis of research, research study level habitat domestic advanced. This direction presided over the completion of one National 863 Program, 7 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 major science and technology projects in Zhejiang province.

3D bio manufacturing direction: to carry out major biological 3D printing technology industrialization of key core technology research, involving printing materials and biological tissue cell compatibility of basic research, tissue engineering bioreactor is development, personalized orthopedic implant materials R & D and so on. Based on the 3D printing program for surgical simulation has in the Department of Orthopaedics; the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of medicine application, occupies the domestic advanced level in the repair of cartilage, blood vessel bioreactor, 3D printing screening drugs research and development. This direction presided over the completion of one National 863 Program sub projects, 5National Natural Science Foundations of China, 2 major science and technology projects in Zhejiang province.

The direction of advanced medical instrument research: basic and applied research is mainly carried out the electronic medical instrument, relates to the technical field of high voltage pulsed electric field of non thermal sterilization technology, low-temperature plasma operating system, Internet plus intelligent medical instruments etc.. High voltage pulsed electric field sterilization technology, low temperature plasma surgery system has been achieved industrialization, the level of research and development in the forefront of the country. This direction presided overthe completion one national science and technology support program, 4 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 4 major science and technology projects in Zhejiang province.
